(Baghdad: Al Furat News) Prime Minister Haidar Abadi, the inspection of soft loans for long periods, while announced the launch of meetings with investment companies early next month.
"Kuwait has donated all the expenses of the donor conference and they consider Iraq a strong and real strategic team," Abadi said at his weekly press conference. "Iraq is moving in the right direction. Three years ago no one expected to reach a united Iraq today."
He added that "the amount of grants amounted to 30 billion dollars, which is a huge amount, and our expectations were much lower," noting that "any loan will accept only within the limits of the Iraqi budget, and everyone knows that in every country has an economic system and has determinants that it borrow within A certain extent".
"Some countries are taking risks, but we are far below the required threshold. Every country has a strong national wealth that gathers all its imports and economic activity, and Iraq has a number within the global situation, but far below that figure at present."
"We do not intend to go up very much, but we will look at soft loans for long periods and the low interest rates and their value may diminish over time," he said. "Today's loans are used to provide safe drinking water to citizens and some of the loans we use to provide electricity."
He pointed out that "every loan is carefully studied and we have been offered a lot of loans and refused because it binds the country; but we look at loans aimed at development and increase employment opportunities and the escalation of economic payment of the country."
The Prime Minister that "the number of attendance at the Conference on the reconstruction of Iraq, which was held in Kuwait recently was greater than expected three times," referring to "the launch of meetings with investment companies early next month."
He added that "Iraq is keen on the arrival of funds to the right projects," noting that "billions of dollars spent without there is an improvement in infrastructure and services," pointing to "the launch of meetings with investment companies early next month."
However, "the disruption of the budget in the House of Representatives is unjustified and hampered many of the government projects."
