Twilight News / Transparency International released a new report on the corruption index in 180 countries around the world for the year 2017. The
report said that the index shows that the majority of countries have made little progress or no progress at all to end corruption, while risking journalists and activists in corrupt countries lives every Day to publicly express their views.
The index was based on a scale of zero to 100, where zero was the highest level of corruption and 100 was the absence of corruption at all.
Two-thirds of the world's countries scored less than 50 degrees in this index.
The top five in terms of corruption, New Zealand (89), Denmark (88), Finland (85), Norway (85) and Switzerland (85) South Sudan 12 and Syria 14 have the highest rates of corruption.
This is the ranking of the Arab countries in the global index:
