"In light of the role of the border crossing authority, which is set out in accordance with Law No. 30 of 2016, especially the supervisory role and in order to apply the provisions of the relevant laws, especially the Customs Law No. 23 of 1984, we would like to show that, There is no closure of any sea port in the Iraqi ports and that all government agencies are working daily activities according to the law. "
He added that "all customs transactions have been terminated with high flow as long as they are updated to the legal conditions. The Border Ports Authority has sought and responded to the official requests submitted by all relevant parties, especially the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, to exert efforts to expedite the resolution of the subject of goods congested in ports Of ten days, which will not complete its legal procedures, although this is outside the jurisdiction of the Ports Authority. "
The statement said that "the matter is currently under the jurisdiction of the General Authority of Customs, where it was approached under our letter No. 5679 dated 15/5/2018 to expedite the resolution of the subject in accordance with the provisions of the law and the mechanisms adopted by that body."
The statement concluded, "Therefore, the Border Ports Authority urges the merchants and the customs agents to speed up the completion of these transactions and review the customs offices concerned."
