The Iraqi Oil Ministry called on investors wishing to build a refinery of 70 thousand barrels per day in Diwaniya, south of Baghdad, to submit their bids.
"The last day of bidding is the 31st of next July, which is one of several refineries for the processing of crude oil provided by Iraq as part of a plan to achieve self-sufficiency in oil products," the Reuters news agency reported.
Iraq is the second largest producer of crude oil in OPEC after Saudi Arabia, but still imports a lot of oil products from abroad.
