BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Vice President Iyad Allawi on Tuesday assured Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri of the importance of boosting joint economic and investment cooperation between Egypt and Iraq.
"Allawi met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and during his stay in Cairo, he stressed the strengthening of the fields of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and benefiting from the Egyptian experiences in the framework of efforts to revitalize the Iraqi economy," a statement from Allawi's office said. "He said.
"The meeting reviewed the latest developments on the Arab arena, especially the hot files and the efforts exerted by Egypt to find solutions to the files that serve the interests of the Arab nation and achieve the lost Arab solidarity," the statement said.
For his part, Shukri said, "Egypt is keen to intensify consultation and coordination with Iraq on the efforts of rehabilitation and reconstruction of liberated cities, and its determination to participate in these efforts in various fields." Finished
