The former deputy of the Kurdistan Alliance Zana Said that calls for a return to the presidential system means to return to the central again has proved its failure in the previous era,.

He pointed out that there is no mutual trust between the components of the people until they hand over their affairs to a president who has dangerous powers. Therefore, the most suitable for Iraq is the federal parliamentary system where all components can participate in decision-making and in political life and guarantee their constitutional rights, indicating that the political forces in Kurdistan reject Completely reject the return to the presidential system, as it threatens the country to divide and at least the Kurdish parties will not remain within the state governed by a presidential system.

Said said that changing the system from parliamentary to presidential needs to amend the Constitution, because the Constitution states in its first article that the system in Iraq is a parliamentary system and therefore without the amendment of the Constitution can not change the regime at all.
