CAIRO - The number of victims of California's massive forest fires has risen to 29, while Northern California's Sherif said 228 people were still missing and 7,000 homes had been destroyed.

While the fire has hit more than 6,700 buildings in the city of Paradise, including a hospital, a petrol station and several restaurants, more than 52,000 people have been ordered to evacuate the threatened areas.
So far, 40,000 hectares of land have been burned and 20 percent of the fires have been controlled, according to the Department of Forests and Fire Protection in California. Three of the more than 3,200 firefighters involved in the fire fighting effort were injured.
Firefighters are trying to quell fires in the state from Bayut County, which lies at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and in the Los Angeles area.
Although forest fires are common in California, the largest state in the United States now suffers from one of the worst fires in recent history that has displaced hundreds of people from their homes.
The surrounding area has seen panic and mass exodus. A number of Hollywood celebrities have also left their homes, including Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga.
US President Donald Trump has threatened the firefighters to withdraw their financial allocations, accusing them of inaction and California's hell is still on.
