The Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, issued a royal decree on Thursday appointing Ibrahim al-Assaf as foreign minister instead of Minister Adel al-Jubair.
A Royal Order was issued in Saudi Arabia to reconstitute the Council of Ministers headed by King Salman.
A royal decree was also issued to restructure the Political and Security Affairs Council, headed by the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz was appointed as Minister of National Guard, Turki Shabbaneh as Minister of Information, while Hamad Al-Sheikh was appointed Minister of Education.
Faisal bin Khalid was excused, and Turki bin Talal was appointed Emir of the Asir region.
Sultan Bin Salman was also appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Authority and was appointed Chairman of the Space Authority, which was issued a royal decree under the name of "Saudi Space Agency". The Authority shall have a Board of Directors appointed by a Royal Order.
Bader bin Sultan and Faisal Bin Nawaf were appointed as Emir of Jouf.
Minister Maysed al-Aiban was appointed as national security adviser.
Turki Al-Sheikh and the appointment of Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal as head of the Sports Authority were exempted.
