Analysts: China's economy growth in 2018 the slowest pace in 28 years 12502

Analysts expect China to announce on Monday that economic growth will slow to its slowest pace in 28 years in 2018, amid weak domestic demand and painful US customs duties, intensifying pressure on Beijing to implement further support measures to avert a more severe slowdown.
China's growing vulnerability, which has contributed about a third of global growth in the past decade, is fueling fears about risks to the global economy and squeezing profits from companies like Apple and major car makers.
Analysts polled by Reuters forecast the world's second-largest economy to grow 6.4 percent year-on-year in the October-December quarter, down from 6.5 percent in the previous quarter, levels not seen since early 2009 during the global financial crisis.
That would bring the GDP growth rate for 2018 to 6.6 percent, the lowest level since 1990, down from 6.8 percent after the 2017 adjustment.
On a quarterly basis, growth is likely to have fallen to 1.5 percent in the last quarter of 2018, from 1.6 percent in the previous quarter.
