The head of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Mohammed Halbusi, the Council received a request to reorganize the presence of US forces in the country.
While he felt that Iraq still needs the efforts of the international community in the fight against terrorism.
This came in statements made by Halabousi to a number of media on the sidelines of his attendance at the launch of the events of the Rafidain International 2019 in Baghdad.
Halaboussi said in a statement today that his country still needs the efforts of the international community in the fight against terrorism, and fulfill its obligations to Iraq and support his government.
Al-Halbusi said that the Iraqi parliament will work in coordination with Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi to know the actual need for foreign forces.
This comes hours after the rejection of his deputy, Hassan al-Kaabi, to the statements of US President Donald Trump, declaring that "the House of Representatives (Iraqi) will work to enact a law that includes the termination of the security agreement with the United States."
Trump announced yesterday to maintain a US military base in Iraq so that Washington can monitor Iran.
