The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is discussing with the Guarantee Fund the mechanism of investment of industrial projects, while implementing a strategic plan to set up training courses to eliminate unemployment.
Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Dr. Bassem Abdel Zaman told Al-Sabah: The ministry is working in cooperation with the Workers' Pension and Social Security Fund to develop a mechanism for investment in small projects, stressing the discussion of the operation of some of the plants that are suspended in the future in coordination with the Ministry of Industry.
He said the ministry has prepared a plan to develop and increase the imports of the Pension and Social Security Fund through investment projects, which are hoped to be implemented soon in order to encourage the national product and the employment of labor, as well as to revive the stalled factories and provide them with local labor.
On a related note, The Director of the Department of Labor and Vocational Training in the Ministry Raed Jabbar Bahh told "Al-Sabah": That the instructions for granting the leave of special training centers have been prepared in order to implement the strategic plan to eliminate unemployment.
He added that this will be implemented through the establishment of training courses to give trainees sufficient skills that will qualify them and enable them to set up small projects in accordance with the requirements of the labor market. For her part, the deputy director general of the Department of Retirement and Social Security for Workers, Najla Issa, said that field visits were conducted to more than 70 civil projects in Najaf province to urge them to fulfill their obligations to the department, in addition to the inclusion of 21 workers and ten new projects under the provisions of the retirement and social security law for workers and the completion of 16 end-of-service bonus transactions and support for the service of 35 workers guaranteed in the province.
