On Thursday, Deputy Muhammad Al-Khalidi announced that a group of deputies to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, would be a candidate for prime minister.

Al-Khalidi said in an interview with Alsumaria News, "Today, a group of deputies sent a book to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, that includes the nomination of former Minister of Communications Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi as prime minister."

Al-Khalidi added that "this choice came after meeting with the demonstrators and members of the House of Representatives and listening to their views and visions of the candidate who received great approval."

He continued, "We will work to send another supplement with new signatures to the President of the Republic, as we did not complete the signatures yesterday due to the preoccupation with the issue of the electoral law."

A member of the House of Representatives revealed yesterday, Wednesday, a meeting held by 150 deputies to reject any candidate to head the next government presented by the parties, and indicated that the deputies would send a group of names to independent personalities as candidates for the post to President of the Republic Barham Saleh.
