Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi said, on Sunday, that Parliament has the authority to question and hold the President of the Republic in Parliament in case of breaking the oath, treason, or violating the constitution, indicating that the Federal Court will be the judge by condemning the President of the Republic or not.
Al-Tamimi said in a statement to “The Information”, that “Article 61 VI emphasized the accountability, exemption and condemnation of the President of the Republic. Accountability from Parliament is at the request of an absolute majority, half of the total number plus one is submitted to the Presidency of the Parliament. It is perjury, oath, violation of the constitution, and high treason. Parliament refers the file to the Federal Court in accordance with Article 93 VI of the constitution, and of course this is through a lawsuit submitted to the court in accordance with its law.
