, MP Alia Nassif, on Monday, revealed corruption in the Ministry of Oil related to the fifth licensing rounds and the joint fields, asking the Prosecution and Public Prosecution Authority to audit them.
Nassif said, in a statement received by / Mawazine News / a copy of it, that "the operations of withdrawing oil from the joint fields are continuing and intensively as if Iraq has no one to preserve the wealth of its people, and this withdrawal is through blind implementation of international decisions and with the complicity of some corrupt people in the Ministry of Oil ".
"How long will the theft of Iraq’s wealth continue to be stolen in the daytime? Is there no party taking it upon themselves to stop this plundering of the wealth of a people in which many poor people do not find the livelihood of their day? Where is the role of the supervisory authorities towards the depletion of oil wealth by illegal means?"
Nassif stressed, "The importance of the Integrity and Prosecution Authority's intervention, checking the fifth licensing round, knowing all the rationale and details of the joint fields, submitting a report on them, and holding accountable accomplices and those involved in wasting the country's wealth."
