The American embassy calls on Baghdad to take serious steps to protect the demonstrators

The US Embassy in Baghdad issued a statement clarifying that it has repeatedly called for serious steps to be taken to protect demonstrators, journalists and civil society activists from assassinations and violence by those it said were "armed groups."
The embassy added, in a post on its Facebook account, which was accompanied by a video of the demonstrations and violations that take place during it, that it continues to demand investigations and full accountability for the perpetrators of these acts.
