Economist: Border crossings generate less than a third of the supposed revenue due to corruption

Economist Qusai Safwan stressed that the border outlets must be subject to control to prevent corruption cases and control the goods that reach them, indicating: "The revenues of the outlets must reach 10 trillion dinars, while the actual revenue does not exceed 3 trillion."
Safwan said in a press statement: "Iraq has border crossing points with neighboring countries, in addition to airports, and the process of controlling revenue is through provisions for controlling incoming materials and the tariff imposed on goods, and explaining the market need for them."
He added: "There is an absence of price control, in addition to that there are irregular outlets that the Ministry of Interior is supposed to tighten control over."
