(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, announced today, Saturday, consultations with the French "Total" for gas investment in the governorates of Baghdad and Basra.
He said in a press release: "It is necessary to accelerate the implementation of investment projects in the gas, petrochemical industries and sustainable energy sectors, to rely on modern technologies, and to provide advanced training opportunities for workers in the oil sector."
The minister added, "We have seen among the oil companies with which we discussed the confidence of the major investors in the Iraqi energy sector and their desire to expand, diversify and increase the horizons of cooperation, especially BP, ExxonMobil, Eni, Kazprom and others."
Abdul-Jabbar expressed his "hope that an agreement will be reached soon on the talks with Total."
