Former member of the Electoral Commission, Saeed Kakai, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission has no right to issue a decision to cancel the elections abroad.

Speaking to the Alsumaria newsletter, Kakai said, "Board of Commissioners He should reject a recommendation to the House of Representatives or hold an urgent meeting with members of Parliament in order to amend the election law, and then issue a decision by Parliament considering the legislative body authorized by the constitution to prepare the election law.

While noting that "the justifications presented by the Commission for the purpose of canceling the elections abroad were reasonable and acceptable," he affirmed that "the citizens of the Diaspora have the right to participate in the electoral process as this is a constitutional right for them, and therefore they can appeal the decision to cancel."
