    Shafq News / Kurdistan Regional Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Matthew Toller on Monday, April 12, 2021.

    During the meeting, which was attended by U.S. Consul General in Erbil Rob Waller, they discussed the latest developments in Iraq and relations between Kurdistan and the United States.

    The U.S. ambassador to Iraq highlighted the strategic dialogue between the United States and Iraq, and noted that his country will continue to support the Iraqi army and peshmerga to counter ISIS threats within the framework of the international coalition forces.

    The United States Ambassador praised the reforms being carried out by the Kurdistan Regional Government, particularly the reform steps taken by the Peshmerga Ministry.

    The prime minister thanked the U.S. ambassador for his efforts in passing the federal budget law, affirmed the Kurdistan regional government's commitment to implementing the budget law, as well as calling on the federal government to carry out its duties towards Kurdistan under the general budget law.
