[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Parliamentary Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the Governmental Program and the Parliamentary Strategic Planning warned the Ministry of Finance against circumventing the House of Representatives decision not to impose new taxes on the salaries of state employees.
Member of the Committee, Representative Inaam Al-Khuzaie, said: “Despite the parliament’s decision to cancel the income tax on employees after deleting Article 20 of the budget law in order to avoid the economy sliding into an inflationary recession, we were surprised by the Ministry of Finance’s book on 4/13/2021 and No. 880 addressed to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. And which recommends tax deduction and return to work according to Financial Instructions No. (1) for the year 2007. "
In a press release, Al-Khuzaie warned the Ministry of Finance against circumventing the House of Representatives’s decision and going too far and violating the rights of citizens, indicating that “re-activating taxes on the total income of employees represents a clear theft, and deals a new blow to the economy, the citizen and all other segments that depend on the employee’s income to earn their living Dangerously targeted daily. "
She added: "The decision to raise the exchange rate of the dollar actually deducted more than 20% of the citizen's income, and making another tax deduction means stealing nearly half of the employee's salary, thus moving the Iraqi economy from a state of stagnation to stagnant inflation." / End 5[/rtl]
