Parliamentary Defense: Strategic Dialogue Did Not Include Scheduling U.S. Withdrawal from Iraq

The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee on Wednesday unveiled the scenes of strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States, indicating that the dialogue did not include scheduling a U.S. withdrawal from the country.
"Unfortunately, the third round of strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States did not address the issue of scheduling the U.S. withdrawal from Iraqi territory, unlike in previous rounds," committee member Ali al-Ghanimi told Shafq News.
"The issue of withdrawal was supposed to be article 1 and the top priority of the strategic dialogue of the Iraqi talks with the U.S. side and to complete the previous rounds, but on the contrary it did not address any issue related to the withdrawal schedule," he said.
"The third round of strategic dialogue focused on economic and trade realities, education and the dimensions of the main and important point of removing US troops from Iraq," al-Ghanimi said.
