    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

While Iraq is experiencing a water crisis, the true severity of which is not yet known, experts issue warnings that can be described as "frightening" about severe long-term effects.

And while Iraq, despite the recurrence of the water crisis annually, did not reach clear agreements with Iran and Turkey, the two countries directly responsible for the decrease in water supplies to Iraq, and thus standing behind the issue of potential drought due to the huge dams that the countries build on the estuaries, as well as Iraq not establishing storage facilities from dams. And regulators manage the water crisis and prevent large quantities of water from leaking from the Tigris and Euphrates into the Arabian Gulf without benefiting from it.

On the other hand, experts in water resources warn of a humanitarian catastrophe for Iraq by the year 2025 if the government does not take several measures, including obtaining water rights from Turkey and Iran, as well as establishing regulators.
Nabil Jabbar Al-Ali said in a press statement, "The water stress indicator warns that Iraq will be free of rivers in the year 2040 and may show signs of drought in 2025 and today we are in the year 2021."
He added that "the water crisis is not a new issue, especially since the alarm began in 2006 when Turkey embarked on the implementation of the GAP project to build 22 giant dams, including the Great Ilisu Dam," noting that "Iraq will lose its first advantage as an agricultural country after losing the water of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers."
He explained that "successive governments have failed and are negligent in negotiating or obtaining water rights from Iran and Turkey," stressing that "the construction of at least 30 regulating small dams on the Tigris and Euphrates will ensure that Iraq will not collapse."
