Today, Tuesday, Major General Yahya Rasoul, spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, announced moves regarding the Turkish "aggressions" on Iraqi territory.
He said in a press statement: "There is a diplomatic movement through the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy regarding the repeated Turkish attacks on Iraqi lands."
He added, "The Iraqi constitution stipulates respect for the sovereignty of all countries, and therefore all countries must respect Iraq and its sovereignty."
Rasoul stressed, Iraq's refusal to make its territory a starting point for carrying out any terrorist act against any neighboring country, and Turkey should put before its eyes Iraq's sovereignty, and "in the event that information is received about any party, it is given to the Iraqi side, and it is the one who deals with it."
Turkish forces are penetrating more than 30 km into the Iraqi border, justifying this by "fighting" the Kurdistan Workers' Party (Turkish), which Ankara classifies as a terrorist organization.
In the past years, Turkish forces have carried out intensive military operations in both Iraq and Syria, saying that this comes in response to attacks carried out or plans by elements of the Kurdistan Workers Party, which Turkey has been fighting for 37 years inside and outside the country.
