The Finance Committee in the House of Representatives expected, on Thursday (September 16, 2021) that the 2022 budget will exceed 100 billion dinars, while it indicated that no more than 60% of the current budget has been spent.
Committee member Abdel Hadi Al-Saadawi said in an interview with  IQ News , “If the elections take place on 10/10, it will be difficult to complete the budget law during this year, and it is likely that it will be postponed to the next year,” stressing that “all expectations go towards postponing the budget.” and deferred until next year.
And he indicated that "the next budget, after its completion, will include good financial allocations for many segments of the lecturers and others, because the government has many funds and financial allocations that qualify it to conduct an actual budget for Iraq without a large deficit," noting that "the next year's budget so far is unknown speculation, but it increases about $100 billion.
He explained that "more than 60% of the current year's budget has been spent, but we need to increase the number significantly, because there are some provinces varying in the issue of exchange," noting that "the central and southern provinces, did not spend their financial allocations in full and the delay by the Ministry of Finance."
