The Director-General of the Commission, Samer Al-Rubaie, told the Iraqi News Agency "INA", that "the primary resources entering the industry have been exempted from imposing taxes."
He added, "The taxes imposed on importing materials (hydrochloric acid, liquid chlorine, sodium hypochlorite, caustic soda and woven plastic bags have also been reduced from 50% to 20% during 2021.")
Finance Minister Ali Allawi had previously stressed the need to prepare a draft A new tax law commensurate with the Iraqi society, noting that the percentage of taxes collected amounted to 1% of the state's national product during the past year, which is a small percentage.
