    Saleh continued: "Our population is likely to double from 40 million today to 80 million by 2050. Desertification affects 39% of Iraq's area, and 54% of our lands are at risk of losing agriculturally due to salinization and water scarcity in the Tigris and Euphrates - the lifeblood of our country - Which led to the encroachment of the salt tongue towards the tops of the Shatt al-Arab.”
    And he indicated that "Iraq is ranked fifth among the most fragile countries globally in terms of water and food shortages and extreme temperatures, and our water deficit is expected to reach 10.8 billion cubic meters by 2035 at a time when our financial income from oil is declining with the world abandoning oil, and its adoption More on clean energy.
    The President of the Republic said: “(Reviving Mesopotamia) is a project for Iraq and all of our region, which shares the serious threat of climate change, and the project relies on 9 strategic programs that include afforestation, modernizing the management of the Tigris and Euphrates waters, generating clean energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and encouraging investment through climate funds. the green".
    And he indicated, "Recognizing the scale of the transboundary environmental disaster that surrounds us all, and moving towards interconnected and integrated regional environmental plans will be a major step in confronting the effects of "climate change", and pushes the whole region towards joint economic and environmental solidarity, and abandoning the cycle of crises and tensions where Everyone loses in it."
