    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Planning called on the Civil Aviation Authority to push the pace of work on the Nasiriyah International Airport project in order to speed up its completion according to the specified timelines
    In a statement, the ministry said, "Al-Furat News" received a copy of it, that "the current stages of completion are not commensurate with the government's orientation, nor with the great support provided by the ministry to the project, in terms of its inclusion in the 2021 budget, and the release of financial allocations for it."
    The ministry indicated, "The Nasiriyah airport project is one of the distinguished and important projects in the province of Dhi Qar, as it includes a civil airport for transporting passengers, and another for the transport of goods, and it is distinguished by its vital location in relation to the province and the neighboring provinces, in addition to its location within the geographical area between the ruins of Ur and Ziggurat."
    And she continued, "The Nasiriyah Civil Airport project will provide a lot of job opportunities and represent a good start for economic activity at the governorate level and the rest of the provinces," noting that "the land allocated for the project, with an estimated area of ​​(3416 acres), includes administrative buildings for the reception and departure of travelers. and flight organizing halls, as well as the construction of a second runway in addition to the current runway.
