{Political: Al Furat News} Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi said, on Wednesday, that violence in our society has causes, including the failure of the state and governments
In a speech during the conference on violent extremism and its forms of confrontation - the Iraqi case, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi stated that "we have no choice but to adhere to the Iraqi identity and belonging to this great nation, Iraq, with its achievements, its civilization and its citizens."
He added, "We have to look into the reasons why some of our youth are involved in violence, and we have to reveal the reasons, including backwardness, ignorance, neglect of health and education, and lack of attention to human dignity," noting that "extremism and violence have become a global phenomenon due to the repercussions of technology and changes in the world, and in Iraq." We are witnessing a special phenomenon, as violence in our society has causes, including the failure of the state and governments.”
He added, "We have many wounds and repercussions in our society, and we must all cooperate to treat them. The most important thing is to search for the causes of extreme extremism, and to search for the circumstances of its emergence in Iraq," explaining, "A few days ago we celebrated Victory Day, and we witnessed change since liberation until today. But it is still a simple movement and we must start to get started, and there is a failure in the construction of infrastructure and services, and we are still suffering from the repercussions of corruption.”
He pointed out that "dialogue is the solution, and we have to elicit lessons from what happened and its causes. The Iraqis are looking forward to building a state of institutions and consolidating the foundations of democracy, and we must defeat the culture of violence, and the culture of dialogue should triumph, and look forward to a better future," noting that "Iraq is distinguished." With its diversity, we have to turn this diversity into a source of strength, instead of weakness. Some countries spend huge amounts of money in order to create diversity in their societies, and we have to accept pluralism and differences in viewpoints."
He expressed, "We have to work together to confront the scourge of corruption, and the government has made great efforts to confront it, and it is still facing great challenges because of its measures in this confrontation, and the threats are still continuing and public to the Anti-Corruption Committee."
He concluded, "I salute your conference, and I suggest organizing continuous workshops to confront violence, as we have responsibilities towards our people and we must work to build a new patriotic feeling."
