Today, Tuesday, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, discussed with the Sadrist movement the path of the political process and steps to form the next government.
A statement issued by the media office of President Barzani stated that during the meeting, light was shed on the political process in Iraq, the results of the elections and the necessary steps for the first session of the Iraqi parliament and the formation of the new Iraqi government.
The meeting also focused on continuing efforts to start a new phase of the political process, overcome challenges, respond to the will and demands of citizens, and solve problems between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, within the framework of amending the political process and considering the demands of all Iraqi components, according to the statement.
A delegation from the Sadrist movement headed by Hassan al-Adari had arrived in Erbil on Monday to discuss forming the next government.
The Sadrist bloc's negotiating committee, headed by Hassan al-Adhari, met the leaders of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Erbil during a visit to the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Adhari and his accompanying delegation discussed with the head of the negotiating delegation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, a number of issues of common interest.
The two parties also discussed a number of files related to internal affairs, foremost of which are bilateral understandings to form a government of the national majority.
