An informed source revealed, on Wednesday, that the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, will run for the post of President of the Iraqi Republic.
The source said that the Kurdistan Democratic Party will nominate the leader of the party, Hoshyar Zebari, for the post of President of the Republic.
He added that Zebari will travel tomorrow from Erbil to Baghdad to present his candidacy papers to the Iraqi parliament.
And if Zebari submits his candidacy papers, it will be the first time ever that the Democratic Party submits a candidate for the position of President of the Republic.
And sources in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan have reported that the party will nominate the current president, Barham Salih, to occupy his position for a second term.
The Kurdish judge Rizgar Muhammad Amin said that he would run for the position, calling on the Kurdish political forces to vote for him in the dome of the Iraqi parliament.
