Al-Halbousi: It is not in Iraq's interest to reproduce failed experiments, including consensual government formation
Shafaq News/ The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, considered on Saturday a return to cloning the failed experiences in forming the new Iraqi government as futile.
Al-Halbousi said in his speech on the memorial day for the Iraqi martyr, which is held annually by the Wisdom Movement in Baghdad, "Today we are on the threshold of a new era that adopts reform as a method and advances with determination to achieve democracy and sovereignty, and strives within the framework of brotherhood to achieve the principle of cooperation, dialogue and integration of roles."
He added, "We affirm our belief and belief that it is not in Iraq's interest to reproduce previous failed experiences. We tried consensual when everyone participated in the government, and no one was responsible for failure. Success has a thousand fathers, but failure has no legitimate father."
He also warned by saying that "jumping over the election results under any name is a blow to the origin of democracy, as we seek and secure a peaceful and smooth transfer of power without threat or hostility, otherwise it is a return to the eras of illegal coups."
