The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, decided on Thursday to form a delegation responsible for the truce task between the Sadrist movement and Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq movement, which splintered from the movement led by Qais Khazali, with the aim of avoiding the outbreak of an internal war between Shiites in Iraq against the background of the recent events in the southern province of Maysan. .
Al-Sadr said in a statement today, "If one of the two delegations (the current and Asa'ib) does not respond, I will declare the innocence of both parties without hesitation, and let the law take its course, and everyone will stay away from violence and harm."
He added that "there are those who want to ignite the Shiite-Shiite war and (threatening civil peace) with great regret."
Al-Sadr called on the Asa'ib Asaib official to cooperate with that committee "and stave off sedition."
Over the past period, Maysan governorate witnessed a series of assassinations that targeted clan dignitaries and elements in the Sadrist movement led by Muqtada al-Sadr, and the "Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq" movement, which splintered from the movement led by Qais Khazali.
Those assassinations affected Judge Ahmed Faseel (on February 5), who specializes in drug cases in the Maysan Court of Appeal. He was preceded by the assassination of the officer in the Ministry of Interior, Husam Al-Alaywi, late on Wednesday (February 2) in the same governorate.
A member of Saraya al-Salam was also killed, Wednesday, by unidentified gunmen in the city of Al-Amarah.
The Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq movement, Qais Khazali, called on Thursday (February 3), the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to acquit the killers of Major Hossam al-Alayawi, warning against provoking sedition.
On Wednesday, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, commented on the recent assassinations in Maysan Governorate, stressing that the Sadrist movement and Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq are "brothers", even if they differ politically.
Earlier today, the leader of the "Al-Fateh" coalition, Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, warned of the outbreak of internal fighting in Iraq against the backdrop of the security events taking place in the southern province of Maysan.
