    Baghdad - INA - Nassar Al-Hajj
, the Presidency of the House of Representatives confirmed, today, Friday, its intention to create additional committees and to include important laws in the first sessions of Parliament, while it clarified its procedures regarding the representatives who did not take the constitutional oath and who will be absent from the parliament sessions.

The Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the House will form committees it deems necessary at this stage, which are additional or new committees, and will also activate the permanent committees that will be formed during the first sessions starting from next week's session." , stressing that "the committees will have a major role in activating the oversight and legislative role of the parliament and carrying out its real tasks and supporting the work of the other permanent committees in parliament."

On the increase in the number of parliamentary committees, Abdullah added, “There are necessary committees and there are ministries and institutions in the government. The oversight side requires that the committees be parallel to their number, such as the Federal Service Council, which needs to have a committee in the House of Representatives that is the watchdog and helps in the work of this institution, as well as Other requirements.

He pointed out that "the legislator in Article 82 of the House of Representatives' internal system, when he established the authority of the House of Representatives to create other committees according to the requirements, he realized that it is necessary to create institutions that need additional committees according to the requirements of the public interest in addition to the committees that were mentioned under Article 70 of bylaws".

He pointed out that "the House of Representatives decided to create additional committees in addition to the main committees, but so far the number of them has not been determined."

Regarding the laws that will be included in the upcoming parliament sessions, Abdullah said, "The House of Representatives will include important laws, including laws in the Services Committee and the Foreign and Legal Committees, and there are important laws that will be presented and scheduled according to the importance of serving the street and the citizen."

He expressed his hope that "the new round will be different with regard to the oversight and legislative aspects," noting that "the Presidency of the House of Representatives agreed, during last week's meeting, to put important projects that affect the lives of citizens on the agenda, so that the Council will have an active role in The field of providing services and enacting laws that affect the life of the Iraqi citizen.

And regarding the accountability of the representatives who did not take the constitutional oath, Abdullah affirmed, “The new law is not like other laws, as it requires Parliament to exclude representatives who did not take the constitutional oath in the first session for a month,” explaining that “the Council will take a decision asking the commission to send their replacements to take the oath.” ".

As for the deputies who are absent from the sessions, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament confirmed that “the Presidency of the Parliament will take a decision to hold them accountable and compel them to come to the Parliament and follow up on that because their presence will fulfill the role of the Parliament as they are representatives of a segment and a component of the people.”
