    The Government Media Cell announced, on Wednesday, the agenda of the second international water conference, which will be hosted in the capital, Baghdad, next week, and which will last for 3 consecutive days.

    And the cell said in a statement that “People” received a copy of it, (March 2, 2022), that “with the patronage of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and with the follow-up and supervision of the Minister of Water Resources Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, the activities of the second Baghdad International Water Conference will be launched in the capital, Baghdad, for a period of three days, For the period from (5-7 March 2022) under the slogan (Water and Climate Changes).  
      
    She added, "The last day of the conference will include a field visit to Sadat Al-Hindiya, which was recently included in the World Irrigation Heritage Register."  
      
    And she continued, "The vision of the conference will be based on achieving sustainable development of water resources in light of climate changes and in the long run, and achieving coordination and joint cooperation with riparian countries based on the principle of harm sharing."  
      
    The conference aims, according to the statement, to "discuss climate change and its impact on water resources, as well as enhance the global response to the threat of climate change and global warming, with a view to putting the world on a safer and more prosperous development path, and making it a platform for a new country to exchange experiences and knowledge and overcome the challenges of water scarcity, due to changes Climate change, and within the axes of managing water resources in light of climate changes, as well as the sustainability of surface and ground water, reducing sources of pollution, sustaining the wetland ecosystem, preserving biodiversity, and developing water policy in line with the impact of climate change.
