    Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced the launch of the 33rd batch of loans in the coming days, and while explaining the reason for the delay in distributing it on time, it indicated that this depends on the amounts recovered from previous borrowers.
    Ministry spokesman Najm Al-Aqabi told the official agency, and the news followed him, "Draft Law No. 10 of 2012 established a lending fund in the Ministry of Labor managed by a board of directors headed by the Minister of Labor and membership of a group of Iraqi ministries."
    He added, "The fund contains capital that is distributed to all ministries, and currently we rely on refunds from previous borrowers with the launch of meals every 3-4 months, amounting to 5,000 borrowers, of those who submitted a loan request in 2020, and their number is 224 thousand according to Meals are released based on refunds.
    He expected that "in the coming days, 33 loans will be launched, and it may include 4,000 names, but the delay in it is the result of work on preparing an inventory so that the meal can be launched in a more appropriate manner."
    Regarding the employment of Iraqi workers, Al-Aqabi explained, "The ministry, through the Labor Inspection Department and the Foreigners Department, imposes on foreign companies located in Iraq to employ 50% of Iraqi workers, in accordance with the decisions of the Council of Ministers and the instructions of foreigners, and any company owner who intends to introduce workers to Iraq is only allowed to under this condition.
    And he added, "When the condition is violated, the owner of the company will be referred to the special labor courts."
