Yesterday, Wednesday, the coordination framework of the Shiite forces renewed its assertion that it would not give up the formation of the largest bloc in the parliament.
Representative of the coordination framework Haider al-Lami said in a statement to (Al-Mada), that the framework "will not give up the formation of the largest parliamentary bloc within the dome of the House of Representatives," noting that "the most numerous bloc is the main guarantor of the continuation of the political process because it will define the parameters of the next stage by choosing Prime Minister".
He explained, "There must be an agreement between the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement to form the largest bloc," noting that "the choice of the prime minister is a Shiite affair and it must be within the Shiite house exclusively," which is absolutely rejected by the Sadrist movement. Al-Lami added, "The coordinating framework is working on an agreement with Mr. Al-Sadr, and then an agreement with the rest of the political parties," noting: "We have no dispute over any person who is nominated by Al-Sadr." He continued, "We are in diligent and permanent work to reach an understanding with Al-Sadr," noting that "the visits continue between the framework and the current, and the atmosphere is positive so far." Al-Sadr had given a 40-day deadline for the coordination framework and its allies, who constitute the blocking third in the House of Representatives, with 126 seats out of the total number of 329 deputies to enter into dialogues with other parliamentary blocs to form a government in which the Sadrist bloc would be outside.
