    Today, Saturday, the President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, warned of the continuation of the political crisis.
    Saleh said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "On April 9, we recall the fall of the tyrannical regime that committed the most heinous crimes against the Iraqis, and squandered the country's wealth and the unique energies of its sons in wars and absurd conflicts that our people paid for. April 9 is also an occasion to review the overall political performance. in the country after two decades of experience.
    He added: "The major transformations achieved after the change in 2003 cannot be underestimated, but failures must be acknowledged and cannot be justified only in the legacy of the former regime," noting that "the need is urgent today to meet the demand of all Iraqis in a rational rule that transcends the mistakes and loopholes of experience." And addressing the structural defect in the system of governance that requires real and radical reform that cannot be postponed, and this will not be achieved without restoring the confidence of the people as the source of authority and its legitimacy through exceptional and courageous measures that put the interests of citizens above all considerations.
    And Saleh said: "Today, after two decades of change, our country is going through a sensitive circumstance amid a political blockage and the delay in constitutional benefits beyond their specified dates, which is completely unacceptable after more than five months have passed since early elections were held in response to a popular movement and national consensus as a means of reform and ensuring political stability. correcting the wrong paths, improving the conditions of citizens and responding to their demands.” 
    And he added, "The continuation of the political crisis may lead the country towards dangerous labyrinths in which everyone will lose, and therefore all political forces today have a historical, national and moral responsibility to consolidate the national row through a serious and effective dialogue to get out of the current crisis, and to start forming a capable and effective national government that protects the interests of the country." It enhances its sovereignty and independence, works to meet the aspirations of Iraqis, and confronts the huge challenges before us, especially the internal economic conditions and in light of regional conditions and international changes.”
    The President of the Republic indicated that “the months that followed the October elections confirm what we said about the need for constitutional amendments that must be initiated during the coming period through national accord and understanding, for items that experience proved responsible for intractable crises, and the dangerous scourge of corruption that threatens the entity of the state requires a pause.” decisive to combat it, and work to ensure equal opportunities for all Iraqis in building the country and its renaissance, and this requires revisions and reform decisions based on frankness and a unified will.
    He pointed out that "in this context, we reaffirm the need for a political and social contract that guarantees civil peace, based on an objective review of past mistakes. Citizens throughout Iraq, Basra, Mosul, Baghdad, Nasiriyah, Salah al-Din and Kurdistan, recognize the impossibility of continuing the status quo, and demand authorities that respond to their demands and aspirations."
