The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiath al-Sorji, revealed, on Tuesday, the absence of congratulations on the occasion of Eid between the Kurdish parties, and while he attributed this to the depth of differences, he indicated that the majority of Iraqi tourists during the Eid holiday went to Sulaymaniyah without Erbil.
Al-Sorji said in a statement to "The Information" that "it is common knowledge that on all national and religious occasions, especially holidays, congratulations are exchanged at all levels between the Kurdish parties, but this holiday for the first time has disappeared."
He added that "the absence of an exchange of congratulations was not limited to the national and democratic Kurdish parties, but also included all other parties," noting that "the phenomenon confirms the extent of the depth of the differences between the two parties and other Kurdish parties."
On the other hand, Al-Sorji confirmed that “tourism in Erbil recorded a significant decrease in the number of tourists during the Eid holiday, while Sulaymaniyah recorded large numbers with the number of arrivals from the Iraqi governorates.” End / 25 AD
