The Ministry of Water Resources revealed the arrival of a high-level Turkish delegation to Iraq in the coming days to discuss the mechanisms that can be agreed upon regarding water releases.
Ministry advisor Aoun Diab said in press statements that the delegation will discuss the fixed share of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Accordingly, the matter is important to resolve this matter in order to obtain Iraq’s fair share of water.. He expressed his hope that negotiations will take place with Ankara to release sufficient quantities, since Iraq has a share within the agreements of the riparian countries..
He added that the damage should be shared by everyone. Accordingly, Iraq is awaiting the arrival of the delegation after the Eid holiday to resolve all water files.
