Earth News/ The economic expert, Ahmed Saddam, confirmed today, Monday, that the transfer of the 1,000 schools project from Chinese companies to Iraqi companies is a great economic waste.
Saddam said in an interview with Earth News, "If the 1,000 schools project is transferred from Chinese companies to Iraqi companies, this in itself constitutes a great economic waste."
Saddam added, "The economic feasibility lies in establishing schools directly by Chinese companies, if we take into account that they will build these schools with international specifications that local construction companies cannot provide."
And he indicated that “the method of financing will be through actual current expenditures, and this is what is permitted by the Financial Management Law, which sets the exchange rate within 1/12, as it can be spent on, as it is one of the projects primarily included in the budget for the year 2021, and therefore it is considered one of the ongoing projects.”
The economic expert pointed out that "the cost of one school, according to what some sources indicate, will reach one million dinars per meter."
