    [size=45]On Wednesday, Trade Minister Alaa Al-Jubouri stressed the importance of checking the ration card items, while issuing 6 recommendations related to food security.[/size]
    [size=45]This came during his attendance at a workshop entitled (The Role of Laboratory Tests in Enhancing Food Safety), organized by the General Company for Grain Trade in Baghdad Hotel.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Jubouri said, "Work is underway to form a technical advisory team from the Grain Company and the ministries of planning, education and health, whose mission is to follow up on the audit of laboratory examinations for the ration card items to develop a single national vision."[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, the General Manager of the General Company for Grain Trade, Mohamed Hanoun, said in his opening speech to the workshop, “The aim of this workshop is to present views to exchange visions and information to come up with a unified national vision on the mechanisms of laboratory tests in enhancing food security safety, auditing standards and quality control laboratories for the purpose of Presenting it to the concerned authorities and crystallizing the standardization of laboratory tests to maintain the safety of food security and the safety and health of the Iraqi citizen.[/size]
    [size=45]Hannoun pointed out that "there is an agreement on some points that enhance the work of the quality control department to obtain a certificate of accreditation for the examinations of foodstuffs that the company deals with and in accordance with the approved standard specifications."[/size]
    [size=45]And Hannoun, that "the workshop came out with six recommendations, namely the need to work on twinning with the international grain councils regarding the safety and examination of grains, as well as supplying food testing laboratories, especially those affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce, with the latest equipment and laboratory equipment."[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that "the workshop recommended the participation of workers in food laboratories in advanced training courses inside and outside the country to increase their expertise and technical skills, in addition to increasing the supervisory role over local markets and stores designated for foodstuffs to ensure food safety."[/size]
    [size=45]He stressed, "The recommendations also included the importance of joint scientific coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture for the purpose of improving local varieties, and joint scientific coordination with the accreditation body and urgently for the purpose of obtaining accreditation.[/size]
