    The Parliamentary Services Committee affirmed, on Tuesday, that the Labor Law obligates 80% of local labor to be employed, and that it has priority in projects inside the country, whether local or foreign.
    Committee member MP Rafiq Al-Salhi said, "The recent statement of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs regarding the employment of local labor 1×1 in projects inside the country does not violate the labor law," noting that "the labor law obliges the owners of projects in all their forms and specializations to prioritize the employment of local labor by 80%. As for the remaining percentage, it should be according to 1 x 1, due to the development of Iraqi expertise. 
    Al-Salihi added, "The committee supports the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to return to the application of the Labor Law in a serious and realistic manner, and to oblige owners of large and medium projects to implement the law because it will solve an important and large part of the phenomenon of unemployment, as well as developing local expertise." 
    It is noteworthy that the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, announced the ministry's seriousness in implementing the Labor Law, which imposes the employment of an Iraqi worker for every foreign worker.

    Committee member MP Rafiq al-Salihi said in a press interview seen by Taqaddam, that “the recent statement of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs regarding the employment of local workers 1×1 in projects inside the country does not violate the Labor Law,” noting that “the Labor Law obligates the owners of projects in all its forms Its terms of reference are to prioritize the employment of local labor by 80%, and the remaining percentage must be according to 1×1, due to the development of Iraqi expertise.”
