The leader of the State of Law coalition, Jassem Muhammad Jaafar, confirmed, on Monday, that the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani to Washington will not be conditional on specific discussions, while he indicated that the Iraqi mediation regarding hydrating the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iran is still faltering due to some files.
Jaafar said, in a press interview seen by Taqaddam, that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani’s upcoming visit to the United States of America will not be conditional on discussing specific files, but rather depends on al-Sudani’s political ability.”
He added, "The most important files that Al-Sudani will present are the file of Iraqi funds insured with the US Federal Reserve resulting from the sale of oil and a settlement of the US military presence."
Jaafar explained, "Al-Sudani's visit is important to define the new relationship with the United States of America and to distance the Iraqi arena from regional and regional disputes," noting that "Iraqi mediation regarding hydrating the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iran is still faltering due to some files."
