[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / - Representatives of minority blocs called for postponing the vote on the paragraph for selecting members of the Committee of Experts for the Commission for Human Rights, in the parliament session scheduled for today.
The head of the Yazidi bloc, Representative Nayef Khalaf Sido, said in a joint press conference with the head of the Sabean-Mandaean bloc, Representative Osama Al-Badri, that "the agenda of the parliament session today, Thursday, includes voting on the selection of the expert committee through which the members of the Commission for Human Rights will be chosen.”
Sido criticized the parliamentary presidency for selecting members for this committee and not including the representative of the Yazidi nationality and the representative of the Mandaean Sabeans, although we had previously submitted to the parliamentary presidency and the relevant parliamentary committee a letter of our candidacy for membership in the expert committee.
He added, "We register our objection to add a paragraph to vote on the selection of members of this committee," calling on the Presidency of the House of Representatives to postpone voting on this paragraph and give space to the political blocs by working to ensure that all components are represented in this important committee.
