President of the Republic Abdul Latif Rashid received, on Sunday, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Iraq, Zabidullah Zabidzadeh.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic said, "At the beginning of the meeting, the ambassador conveyed an official invitation to the President of the Republic to visit Tajikistan from President Emomali Rahman."
Rashid stressed, "the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries to serve common interests," pointing to "the importance of joint coordination in order to consolidate international peace and security."
The President of the Republic indicated "the need to open the Tajik embassy in Baghdad for the purpose of developing and strengthening relations between the two countries."
In turn, Zadeh affirmed, "his country's keenness to enhance the horizons of cooperation in a way that serves the aspirations of the Iraqi and Tajik peoples for progress and prosperity," and he also expressed "his hope to open his country's embassy in Baghdad." Ended 29/N33
