Today, Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shayaa Al-Sudani affirmed that the government is continuing on more than one level to improve the reality of the electricity system, pointing out that all the problems and crises that the electricity system was exposed to are outside the control of the ministry.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement, that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani inaugurated two installed units at the Amarah gas power station in Maysan Governorate, which he arrived on Thursday morning."
The statement added, "The Prime Minister blessed the efforts of the staff working in the Ministry of Electricity and the executing company to complete this project, which will supply the system with a new capacity of 250 megawatts."
The Prime Minister indicated that "the direction of the government and the Ministry of Electricity, during the last stage, focused on implementing combined cycle projects, and the first phase was signed to produce approximately 1140 megawatts of electrical energy," noting that "it is hoped that the second phase of cycle projects will be signed." The vehicle, until the total power reaches 4,000 megawatts, will be implemented without the need for additional fuel.
