    Today, Sunday (August 13, 2023), the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, affirmed her country's readiness to continue constructive dialogue with Iraq, while praising the recent round of strategic dialogue in Washington. 
    A statement by the media office of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, which was received by "Baghdad Today", stated that "Al-Sudani received, today, Sunday, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Iraq, Alina Romanowski." 
    The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed the overall Iraqi-American relations, and ways to enhance joint cooperation in the economic and development fields, in light of the strategic framework agreement, and in a way that benefits the interests of the two friendly countries." 
    The Prime Minister affirmed, according to the statement, "Iraq's progress in implementing its reform programs at various levels, and working to build fruitful partnerships with friendly and brotherly countries," stressing the need to "continue dialogue between Iraq and the United States to regulate the relationship in the post-victory stage over the terrorist organization ISIS." And in light of the development of the capabilities of the Iraqi security forces.
    For her part, the US ambassador expressed the US government's keenness to continue cooperation and develop common interests with Iraq, praising the recent round of strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States in the US capital, Washington, according to the statement.
