Parliamentary Communications: Securing websites and platforms needs customization

The Parliamentary Transportation and Communications Committee attributed the breaches that occur to websites and electronic platforms to the lack of financial allocations to secure the infrastructure of the Ministry of Communications. Committee member Karwan Ali Yarouis told Al-Sabah that coordination has been made with the Ministry of Communications to solve the problem of hacking websites and electronic platforms. He added that hacking of websites exists in most technologically advanced countries, indicating that the country needs work to secure websites, despite the existence of sufficient human resources and technical capabilities, but it requires the provision of financial allocations to secure the infrastructure in an integrated manner. Yarouis added that communication has been made with the Minister of Communications, Dr. Hayam Al-Yasiri, regarding preparing a mechanism and supporting the work of the Ministry of Communications to solve the problem of hacking websites.
