In an interview with the Maalouma Agency, Radi said, “The government has undertaken intensive dialogue with upstream countries to resolve the water crisis,” noting that “all Turkish promises are still a dead letter.”
He added, "Water is one of the most thorny issues that naturally affects food security in the central and southern regions, specifically the three southern governorates."
He pointed out that there are government moves to discuss the repercussions of the water crisis with the Syrian side and the SDF forces’ control over the Euphrates River, and he continued that the continuation of the water crisis portends a disaster at a time when we are heading towards an agricultural season.”
The representative of the National Sindh Bloc, Saad Al-Tobi, had confirmed in a statement to “Al-Ma’louma” that Iraq was heading to negotiate with Turkey seriously to secure water shares, indicating that the file had become an utmost necessity for Iraq. Ended / 25 hours
