Member of the Parliamentary Services Committee, MP Baqir Al-Saadi, confirmed on Sunday that housing projects will provide 20-30 thousand housing units during 2024.

Al-Saadi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The government is serious about laying firm foundations for the housing crisis in Iraq, especially the capital, Baghdad, through a comprehensive strategy that relies primarily on 11 important paragraphs, the most prominent of which is openness to the investment file and directly involving government companies in building units according to their costs.” It helps to contain all segments without exception.”
He added, "20-30 thousand housing units will be launched during 2024, and the numbers may double with the presence of ambitious plans to build new cities in the governorates according to modern and advanced foundations with full provision of basic services."
He pointed out that "solving the housing crisis will be the beginning of the end of the slum file, which has been a source of concern for many years, in addition to its humanitarian repercussions on more than 100,000 families directly."
